Project Description

The C5 GPS Media Player was designed to enable online viewing of expedition track logs, geotagged visual documentation (both stills and videos), and written commentary generated from all of the Landscape Initiative expeditions. At the time (2004-’05), the ability to view imagery online that is correlated with an image's latitude and longitude origin was yet to be commerically available. The Media Player was commissioned by the Whitney Museum of American Art for its Artport, where it was the Gatepage for the summer of 2005. Steve Durie was the project manager.
